Umbria Jazz Festival using Merging Converters

The world renowned Umbria Jazz Festival taking place every Summer in Perrugia now uses Merging Technologies converters to achieve the best sound quality for the best jazz experience.

Merging Audio Device (MAD) 1.0 Released!

This new ASIO RAVENNA/AES67 device supports Multi ASIO Clients, integrates WDM Support and includes a device discovery view. With this new device driver multiple applications running ASIO can be launched in parallel on a same system, sharing the same sampling rate and at the same time multiple applications running WDM can be launched in parallel and have their own sampling rate automatically converted to the ASIO sampling rate. This allows monitoring the Windows system sound and any application (such as Spotify, YouTube, PC Sounds files, etc…) along with any ASIO applications, provided there is a Merging AoIP interface on the network.

Merging provides the RAVENNA/AES67 solution for the new studio facility

Given a reputation for producing award winning products and with a majority of employees being keen musicians, setting up a recording facility in the new headquarters in Cambridge, MA was a serious endeavour.  To support its purpose as both a testing facility and as a not-for-profit recording and mastering studio, careful equipment choice was paramount.   That task fell to iZotope’s Chief Engineer and Education Director, Jonathan Wyner and renowned acoustician, Francis Manzella.  Critical components in the listening chain are the mic pres and the A/D and D/A converters. The final choice was Merging’s Horus Networked Converters partnered with PMC monitors, Avid S3 EUCON Controllers with an IHSE Draco Tera KVM Matrix, Dangerous Audio compressors and Grace Monitor Controllers.
